Philippe Starck’s Wind Turbine

I came across a wind turbine “Democratic Ecology” (reminds of Soviet Names like “Revolution and Peace“) by a famed designer Philippe Stark. It’s rumored to provide a single home with 20-60% of all the electricity it needs and cost $633. Doubtful. Not sure what to think of it design-wise, as I could not verify its efficiency, aside cross-posted stats from multiple blogs.

I still think it’s quite beautiful and evokes visuals of dwellings in an alternative universe with enormous wind farms shaped like gigantic pastry beaters slicing through the air.
