Grandma and I have gardened our backyard for twenty or more years now, and pressure-can, dry or freeze all excess production for the long cold Canadian winters here. We sauerkraut, pickle, and brew beer, root beer and ginger beer too! We put both kids through school, and have very little mortgage left to pay! We got rid of our cars, they were a "Suckers game" and we use public transport and bikes now!

Re: rice growing video – that's really cool. I was planning on converting my shed roof into a green roof.
