The search engines will find all your pages and if you want to stand a good chance of them ranking your pages highly, you’ll want to put the meta tag element on each of them.

Yeah, my focus was more on description tags. I agree that keywords are essentially obsolete, robots is still pretty useful.

You seem to be using Meta Tags and Meta Description interchangably. While a Description is useful, Meta Tags are all but worthless these days.

I also think there’s a bit of reverse psychology at play – the big agencies want to show they’re too busy to worry much about their own sites, and simultaneously above such Google-baiting pfiffery.
